Chema Light
Chema Light consists of chemically treated polystyrene beads designed to be mixed with cement and aggregate to produce lightweight concrete. The resulting concrete is ideal for use in non-structural elements such as wall panels, slope concrete, and filling voids, effectively reducing the overall load on a structure. The foam beads themselves are lightweight, water-resistant, chemically inert, and provide thermal insulation. By replacing traditional aggregate with these lighter materials, Chema Light offers a solution that improves the thermal and acoustic properties of concrete while providing high compressive strength at low densities.
Category Polystyrene Foam Materials
Chema Light is one of Chema Foam‘s products, it’s an additive composed of chemically treated polystyrene beads used to create lightweight concrete. It is mixed with cement and sand to produce low-density concrete for non-structural applications, providing excellent thermal and acoustic insulation while reducing loads on the structure.
Properties & Advantages
• Enables the production of lightweight concrete.
• The beads are lightweight, water-resistant, chemically inert, and can insulate heat.
• Achieves high compressive strength with low densities.
• Provides high workability and allows for easy molding.
• It improves the thermal and acoustic insulation properties of the concrete.
• Use it to raise levels without adding significant loads.
Areas of Use
Use the lightweight concrete produced with Chema Light for:
• Non-structural wall panels.
• Slope concrete.
• Filling voids to reduce structural load.
• Raising levels without adding mega loads.
Installation
1. Put Chema Light beads into the mixer.
2. Add cement and aggregates to the mixture.
3. Add water according to the specified mixing ratio and mix until the mixture is homogeneous.
4. Once ready, empty the mixer and use lightweight concrete for the required application.
Recommendations for Use
• Avoid using mechanical vibrators with the lightweight concrete mixture.
• The concrete should be treated according to industry standards.
• Do not pour from high places.
