Chema Bond
Chema Bond SBR is a line of water-based, styrene-butadiene rubber bonding agents and modifying admixtures designed to enhance the performance of concrete and mortar. This versatile product serves two primary functions: as a bonding agent to ensure a strong connection between new and old concrete or to improve the adhesion of plasters and renders, and as a modifying admixture to improve the properties of mortars.
Category Cement Additives Products
To begin with, Chema Bond SBR A and SBR A+ are water-based, styrene-butadiene rubber liquids that are specifically used as a bonding agent and modifying admixture for concrete and mortar. In addition, the product improves bond strength, waterproofing, and flexibility for repairs, plasters, and renders. Moreover, it is non-toxic and therefore suitable for contact with potable water.
Properties
• Provides good bonding properties to concrete.
• Improves waterproofing and flexibility of mortars and concrete.
• Used for internal applications, at the same time in external applications as it’s suitable for both.
• Non-toxic and also ideal for use in contact with potable water.
• Also, Chema Bond SBR A+ also reduces shrinkage.
Areas of Use
As a Bonding Agent:
• To bond new concrete to old concrete.
• To improve the bonding of plasters, patching compounds, renders, and mortars.
As a Mortar Admixture:
• For waterproof mortars.
• For flexible tile adhesive mortars.
• For concrete repair mortars.

Mixing Ratios & Application
Mixing Ratios:
• Bonding Coat:
o Chema Bond SBR (A or A+): 10 Kg
o Water: 30 Kg
o Cement: 50 kg
o Sand: 60 kg
• Modified Mortar:
o Chema Bond SBR (A or A+): 5 Kg
o Water: 25 Kg
o Cement: 50 kg
o Sand: 150 kg
Application Notes:
• To begin with, Coverage rates may vary according to the type of surface and do not account for wastage.
• Use a mechanical mixer at low speed to avoid trapping air; also, do not overmix or mix at high speed.
• Also, avoid using excessive water.
• Furthermore, do not apply repair mortar on a dry bonding coat. If the bonding coat dries, it must be roughened before applying a new coat of bonding mortar.
Storage & Shelf Life
• Shelf Life: Unopened packs can be stored up to 12 months.
• Storage: Store for 12 months under cover, out of direct sunlight, and also protected from extremes of temperature.
Packaging
• Available in 5 Kg and 20 Kg Pails, 200 Kg barrel drums, and also 1000 Kg tanks.
