Light-Weight Concrete
Light-weight concrete
Lightweight concrete is a type of concrete that has a lower density compared to traditional concrete. The reduced density is achieved by incorporating lightweight aggregates .
The most common way to produce lightweight concrete is by replacing some or all of the normal weight aggregates (like gravel or crushed stone) with lightweight aggregates.
These lightweight aggregates can include materials as foam beads (such as expanded polystyrene or EPS beads).
The lightweight concrete produced by the foam beads can be used in non-structural elements
such as wall panels, slope concrete, and fill voids to reduce the load on the structure.
Chema-light
Polystyrene beads, Chemically treated, to be mixed with aggregate and cement for Lightweight concrete production.
